CharlesBrain'sPC-HFDLsoftware.Theplotcanbesuperimposedonasuitable
aeronaticalchartthatyouhaveprepared,orPlanePlottercandownloadsatellite
imageryandplottheaircraftsymbolsonthat.Wherealtitudeinformationis
available(egMode-Smessages),youcanselectthedatabyaltitudebandto
distinguishlowlevelandhighleveltraffic.
GoogleEarthserver
IfyouarereceivingMode-SADS-Bpositionreports,PlanePlottercaninterface
toGoogleEarthtodisplayaircraftpositionsovertheGoogleEarthbasemap.It
canevengiveyouadynamicreal-timeviewfromtheflightdeckofanaircraft
thatyoudesignate.
Directionfinding
PlanePlottercandetermineanddisplaythedirectionofanytransmissionusinga
simplepassiveantennaswitch.Thisallowsaircrafttobelocatedevenifthey
arenotequippedwithACARSorMode-S/ADS-B.
Inputsignals
PlanePlottercandecodeACARSmessages,displaythemessagecontentandplotany
positionsonachart.
PlanePlottercanalsoprocessanddisplayADS-Bpositionreportscapturedbythe
KineticSBS1mode-Sreceiver.
PlanePlottercanalsoworkinconjunctionwithCharlesBrain'sPC-HFDLsoftware
(http://www.chbrain.dircon.co.uk/pchfdl.html)byautomaticallyextracting
positionreportsfromthelogfileandplottingtheminrealtimeonthesame
chartdisplay.PlanePlotteraddsvaluebycalculatingcourseandheadingfrom
successivereportsfromthesameaircraftandplottingthepredictedposition
betweenreports(right).
PlanePlottercandriveapassiveantennaswitchanddisplaythedirection(QDM)
ofanyaircraftvoicetransmission.
